Carlos And Sons Home Improvement did an amazing job transforming my basement! From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and really paid attention to the details. They installed new drywall, updated the lighting, painted the entire space, and put in brand new floors, and everything came out beautiful. My basement honestly feels like a whole new part of my home now. I also have to shout them out for being so accommodating, because I definitely threw in a last-minute request (or two � ), and they handled it like pros without missing a beat. “You’re the boss” ~ Carlos Could not be happier or expect more from any contractor — seriously. We used Carlos and Son a couple years back to fix our basement renovation in Upper Marlboro. His work was excellent and given that we later moved into a place with an unfinished basement, I included him in the list of contractors to bid on the job. This go-around it was much more than fixing drywall and awkward framing or installing flooring. This basement was completely unfinished: no rooms, no framing, walls, doors, plumbing, bathroom, shower, utility sinks or anything else—nothing. Carlos’ estimate was competitive and because we knew the quality of his work, went with him. This was all the more impressive because he and his crew were willing to travel back and forth every day—which by itself was a haul. A couple things about Carlos. First, he’s a consummate professional. He and his crew of or two or three always showed up on time and always cleaned up and packed up at the end of the day. Next, he doesn’t waste time. He started the project in early September, was finished by mid-November and even that  was because I had a 2-3 week delay getting a kitchenette. Next, he’s always flexible, even when I ordered left-hand doors when I should have ordered right-handed (or visa versa)—and after they were installed, asked him to uninstall and fix them: “You’re the boss.” He added a bedroom, a closet, a bathroom with tiled floor and a tiled shower, a vanity, a commode, a utility room with a utility sink, a storage room with utility sink, installed a kitchenette, did all the framing, all the drywall, all the flooring, installed stair overlays, moulding, painted everything including the ceiling, 7 new single doors, 2 double doors, even hung window and vertical blinds, bathroom fixtures, a large pegboard in the storage room and a magnetic board in the main room, not to mention a big screen television mount and the television! It was even his idea to frame and box in the sump pump in the utility room and grinder in the bathroom where he added shelving. After everything was said and done, Carlos’ work added roughly 1,900 additional square feet if living space and increased my property value by at least 100k! All of this — literally everything was done, was by and because of Carlos. Here’s a smattering of poor quality before, during, and after pics. Everyone family and friends and neighbors — even our realtor who helped us buy the place, is head-over-heals with the quality of work. I really don’t have the words to convey how pleased we are with his work and cannot recommend Carlos and Son highly enough. Go with Carlos—you’ll be glad you did!

We had a fantastic experience working with Carlos & Son! When planning out the project, they were polite, responsive, and detail-oriented. I really appreciated that the quote and contract we signed laid out specific details, as it indicated that the team cared about the end-result matching what we wanted. During the project itself, everyone who came to our house was on-time, polite, hard-working, and produced exceptional work. After getting several quotes from a few different contractors we decided to choose Carlos & Son to renovate one of our secondary bathrooms in the new home we moved into in 2024. They were quick to get over an estimate and I appreciated the use of an online software to provide estimates and accept the work. Carlos and his team did a great job renovating. Having Carlos and his team in our house was a pleasure and everyone on the team is very nice and friendly. Carlos and son exceeded my expectations from start to finish. I had a shower that needed to be fixed because a previous contractor did a botch job and installed my shower flooring wrong. The flooring was leveled causing the water to not drain. I called Carlos and Son and they were able to come out and fix it. Very professional and reasonably priced.
